Warehouse Associate

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Warehouse Associate works out of the HNG wholesale warehouse, a shared space in Flat Rock, NC. The warehouse is comprised of a multistory walk-in cooler, walk-in freezer, dry storage areas, loading docks and office space. As a warehouse associate you are responsible for making sure our products and warehouse space are cared for, orders are accurate, customers are happy, and the team is supported. You will work in cold conditions where attention to detail is important for safety and to ensure the work is accurate and the warehouse is kept in good working condition. The ability to work as part of a team while executing individual tasks is a key to success in this role.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES  

  • Receive and pack orders with efficiency and accuracy 
  • Assist in inventory management and rotation 
  • Warehouse operational and team support 

DAILY OVERSIGHT AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in receiving product weekly  
  • Operate Reach truck in cooler and freezer daily 
  • Pack orders with efficiency and accuracy 
  • Rotate meat through cooler and freezer 
  • Assist with warehouse cleaning and upkeep 
  • Attend weekly and monthly staff meetings 
  • Miscellaneous support and tasks, as assigned by Warehouse Manager 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

  • Experience using a reach truck or forklift 
  • Ability to work well in a team 
  • Ability to lift to 60 lbs 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Effective and professional oral and written communication 
  • Ability and desire to enhance the reputation of the Hickory Nut Gap brand

Meat Cutter / Butcher

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a skilled meat cutter or butcher to help process and prepare our high-quality, pasture-raised meats. This is a hands-on position working with whole carcasses and sub-primals in a team-oriented, on-farm processing facility.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES  

  • Breaking down whole carcasses (chicken, pork, beef)
  • Producing retail and wholesale cuts
  • Making value-added products (sausages, grinds, etc.)
  • Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
  • Labeling, packaging, and inventory tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of professional meat cutting/butchery experience preferred
  • Solid knife skills and understanding of meat anatomy
  • Strong attention to detail and sanitation
  • Comfortable working in cold environments
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet
  • Interest in regenerative agriculture is a plus!
