HNG Ultimate Chili Recipe

  • 1 lb Ground Beef 80/20
  • 6 oz. Breakfast Sausage (1/2 package)
  • 28 oz. Diced Tomatoes (large can) or 4 c. fresh diced tomatoes
  • ½ c. corn
  • 15 oz. (one can) Great Northern or Kidney Beans
  • 1 Medium Green pepper diced
  • 1 Medium Onion diced
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 4 T. Chili Powder
  • 1 T. Cumin
  • 2 T. Brown Sugar
  • 2 t. Crushed Red Pepper
  • ½ t. Cinnamon
  • Avocado & cilantro for garnish (optional)
Let’s Get Cooking:
  • Add the onion, garlic, and green pepper to large soup pot over medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the ground beef and sausage to the pot. Break it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook for 6-7 minutes, until the beef is browned, stirring occasionally.
  • Add all spices. Stir until well combined.
  • Add the diced tomatoes (with their juice), corn, and drained beans. Stir well.
  • Bring the chili to a low boil. Then, reduce the heat (low to medium-low) to gently simmer the chili, uncovered, for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove the pot from the heat. Let the chili rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
