CONTENT MARKETING MANAGER

Location This role is primarily remote, with meetings and photoshoots required at the farm in Fairview, and meetings at the HNG warehouse in Flat Rock.

INTRODUCTION 

The Content Marketing Manager shapes and amplifies the Hickory Nut Gap Farms brand across all digital touchpoints. This role is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth while ensuring all communications reflect the company’s mission, values, and authentic connection to food, farming, and community. Combining creative storytelling with strategic execution, the Content Marketing Manager leads content creation across social media, email marketing, ecommerce, influencer partnerships, and promotional campaigns to create a cohesive and compelling customer experience. 

This position requires a highly organized and creative marketer who can balance big-picture brand strategy with hands-on execution. From managing content calendars and producing engaging visual assets to optimizing Klaviyo email flows and coordinating cross-functional campaigns, the Content Marketing Manager serves as a central connector between marketing, ecommerce, operations, and external partners. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, deeply attuned to consumer trends and digital engagement, and driven by data-informed decision making that strengthens customer relationships and elevates the Hickory Nut Gap Farms brand. The Content Marketing Manager reports to the Head of Marketing and works closely with the Head of Marketing on campaign strategy, planning, and content approvals. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES  

  • Manage and execute integrated DTC marketing strategies

DAILY OVERSIGHT AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Cultivate brand storytelling and content production 

  • Plan and execute social media strategy across platforms
  • Develop photography, videography, copywriting, and creative assets that strengthen the Hickory Nut Gap brand across all customer touchpoints
  • Create engaging, on-brand content (photo, video, captions, stories, reels, etc.)
  • Maintain organized asset libraries for internal and external use
  • Monitor social media trends and adapt content to maximize reach and engagement
  • Engage with community and manage comments/messages as needed, with support of customer service lead

Manage and execute integrated DTC marketing strategies 

  • Coordinate email, social media, ecommerce, and promotional campaigns to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth
  • Create and manage a comprehensive content calendar
  • Support product launches, seasonal campaigns, and sales initiatives
  • Collaborate with external creative agency on larger campaigns and brand initiatives
  • PR and media kit

Manage email marketing and customer retention initiatives 

  • Klaviyo campaign execution, automated flows, segmentation, list growth, and ongoing performance optimization
  • Develop and execute email calendar aligned with promotions and inventory
  • Collaborate with ecommerce and operations teams to align messaging with product availability

Influencer & Creator Management 

  • Identify, recruit, and manage relationships with influencers and brand partners
  • Coordinate product seeding, campaigns, and content deliverables
  • Track performance and ROI of influencer partnerships
  • Build long-term ambassador relationships aligned with brand values

Develop and manage strategic campaigns and partnerships 

  • Manage influencer collaborations, product launches, seasonal promotions, PR support, and coordination with external creative partners. 

Coordinate marketing operations, analytics, and cross-functional alignment 

  • Conduct promotional planning, website content management, reporting, asset organization, and collaboration with ecommerce, sales, and operations teams
  • Track and report on email, social, and DTC performance metrics
  • Use data to inform strategy and improve effectiveness

Organization & Systems 

  • Build and maintain clear, organized content calendars and workflows
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment with marketing, sales, and operations teams
  • Maintain strong file organization and asset management systems

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION 

  • 2+ years of experience in email marketing, DTC marketing, or digital content roles  
  • Strong experience with Klaviyo (or similar) including flows and segmentation  
  • Expertise in Meta Business Suite 
  • Experience with Amazon Seller Central and Brand Registry 
  • Proven ability to manage content calendars and promotional planning  
  • Experience in photography, videography, and video editing  
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends  
  • Experience managing or collaborating with influencers/creators  
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills  
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to analyze and act on performance metrics  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment 
  • Ability to travel to visit farmers, customers, or to tradeshows

Position reports to the Head of Marketing and works closely with internal teams and external creative partners. All team members remain available for collaboration, feedback, and support.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While the work is primarily computer-based, the Content Marketing Manager will spend time in the field to capture photography and will occasionally need to lift/carry items for marketing purposes such as trade show materials and promotional items. Photoshoots may involve long periods of standing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The work is primarily in an office setting or at home, remote. Travel expected approximately 2–4 times per month for farm visits, retail/customer visits, events, photoshoots, and trade shows We have a warehouse in Flat Rock, and farm where we occasionally meet in Fairview, NC. Most work is accomplished using the computer and phone.

BUSINESS OPERATIONS ANALYST

INTRODUCTION

The Business Operations Analyst supports the financial, systems, and data infrastructure of HNG, helping drive informed decision-making and operational efficiency across the organization. This role works cross-functionally with finance and operations to manage pricing, reporting, and system functionality. The position plays a key role in maintaining and improving ERP systems, developing actionable reporting, supporting financial operations, and assisting in the implementation of new tools and technologies, including AI. This role is well-suited for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and interested in building scalable processes to support a growing business.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Pricing & Financial Analysis: Own pricing models and analysis, partnering with leadership and sales to inform pricing decisions and support margin optimization
  • ERP & Systems Management: Own ERP structure, data integrity, reporting, and system improvements, partnering with operations to ensure consistent usage and SOP adherence
  • Reporting & Business Insights: Develop and maintain reporting tools that provide accurate, actionable insights, supporting decision-making
  • AI & Process Innovation: Support implementation of AI-driven tools and automation focused on improving reporting, forecasting, and operational workflows
  • Financial Operations Support: Support accounting processes including cattle tracking and bookkeeping, partnering with suppliers to reconcile financial and operational data

 

DAILY OVERSIGHT AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Maintain and update pricing models, ensuring alignment with costs, margins, and market conditions.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to support decision-making across teams.
  • Manage ERP system functionality, including troubleshooting, improvements, and user support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve ERP workflows and system integrations.
  • Build, update, and maintain reports and dashboards for operations, sales, and finance.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of data used for reporting and analysis.
  • Explore and implement AI tools to streamline reporting, analysis, and operational workflows.
  • Track purchased cattle, including costs, inventory flow, and reconciliation with processing data.
  • Support accounting processes, including tracking, reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Assist with general bookkeeping tasks and financial record accuracy.
  • Partner cross-functionally to understand data needs and improve reporting capabilities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and data visibility.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • 5+ years' experience in finance preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate and function effectively as a team member.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while efficiently and effectively managing competing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Microsoft Excel experience required.
