Shipping Policy 

Shipping Schedule 

  • We ship orders on Mondays and Wednesdays to avoid perishable items being delayed over the weekend. Most shipments arrive within 1–3 days of fulfillment. You’ll receive an email confirmation with tracking information once your order ships. 

Transit Times 

  • Because our products are frozen and perishable, we only allow packages to be in transit for up to 2 consecutive business days. Orders ship from Flat Rock, NC, and depending on your location, will be sent via Overnight, 2-Dayo or Ground service. 

  • Orders outside our ground network must be upgraded to express shipping to ensure safe arrival. 

  • Hickory Nut Gap ships only within the contiguous U.S. 

  • We are unable to ship to P.O. Boxes. Please verify your shipping address carefully at checkout. 

Shipping Providers 

  • We partner with UPS, FedEx, and USPS, selecting the most cost-effective option for each order. 

Fulfillment Times 

  • Orders are shipped within 5–7 business days of purchase. Shipping days are limited to Monday and Wednesday to help ensure safe delivery. 

Out of Stock Items 

  • Hickory Nut Gap practices whole-animal utilization. There are times when the availability of certain items may vary.  

Packaging & Freshness 

  • Each order is shipped in an insulated cooler with dry ice to ensure items remain frozen. 

  • Products may arrive partially thawed, especially in warm weather. As long as they are still cold to the touch, they are safe to refreeze. 

  • Please transfer items to the freezer or refrigerator immediately upon delivery. 

  • If any item arrives warm to the touch, please discard it and contact us. 

Dry Ice Handling 

  • To dispose of dry ice, place it in a well-ventilated area at room temperature. It will sublimate on its own. Do not place dry ice in trash bins or drains. 

Shipping Materials 

  • All shipping materials are recyclable with cardboard recycling.
